“So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. The one who plants and the one who waters have a common purpose, and each will receive wages according to the labor of each. For we are God’s servants, working together; you are God’s field, God’s building.” 1 Cor 3:7–9
“I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want to own.” — Andy Warhol
Often described as “magical”, St. Dorothy’s is a place where nature is not just a back drop to ministry but the forefront as it relates to our responsibility to and relationships with God’s creation. Since it’s inception in 1901, St. Dorothy’s has operated from a belief that there is a healing that can only occur through exposure to nature. Perched atop the town of Camp Meeker, St. Dorothy’s is a place where the beauty and grandeur of redwoods enfold you, a gentle rain transforms a once dry canyon into a rushing waterfall and the noticeable quiet becomes filled with songs of birds and rustling of forest dwelling creatures.
St. Dorothy’s is on the forefront of a project that will span several generations to insure that thousands more can experience a healing through nature at St. Dorothy’s. Following an historic purchase in July 2012, St. Dorothy’s now sits on over 380 acres in Western Sonoma County.
