Help St. Dorothy’s Support The Recovery Effort Following The Devastating Northern California Fires

So many of you have reached out during this difficult time in Sonoma and Napa counties. We are grateful for your thoughts and prayers, and thankfully, St. Dorothy’s has remained out of danger from the ravaging fires. This is a blessing for many reasons. Most importantly, it allows us to serve our community in desperate need of help. We have just taken in 20 Americorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) volunteers, and we may house as many as 40. These young heroes will assist in the difficult work of clean-up and rebuilding.
The costs of providing them room and board and ensuring them a comfortable home to return to each day are significant (about $100/day for each volunteer), and we hope you will support their longterm stay, above and beyond your usual support of St. Dorothy’s.

You are one of our Saints, and I thank you for hearing this very special call. If you would like to talk about other ways you might help our Americorps team or St. Dorothy’s, please feel free to respond to me at this email or phone number.
St. Dorothy’s Rest
No matter how you are connected to St. Dorothy’s, we invite you to strengthen your ties to this transformative place by making the experience of camp and retreat possible for someone else. We refer to you, our supporters, as “saints” because, quite simply, you are. You recognize the important mission of this beautiful place: to serve children from all walks of life, to serve kids with cancer and organ transplants, to serve adults on their spiritual journeys, and to foster a meaningful place of work for many people.
Your support opens windows and doors into a new world for many kids by making available activities such as canoeing, backpacking, and arts and crafts, swimming, hiking from the redwoods to the ocean, campfire, singing, chapel and more. It also helps to fund the incredible teenage & young adult staff who come to St. Dot’s each summer; by leading transformative experiences for campers, they too are transformed.
